Capital Campaign for a purchase of a building
We are amazed by God's goodness to our church. We have a great opportunity to buy a building in the Bronx! This space will help us join God and His mission to see this city renewed and transformed by the gospel.
DREAM & VISION
It is our dream for this building to be a beacon pointing to the hope found in Christ. This space will help us:
Form disciples for Christ.
Impact the community with a community center.
Create a Christian counseling center.
Plant new churches.
INVITATION
To fulfill this vision and purchase this space, we will ask our Grace Tabernacle family to come together to raise $600,000. This will make it easier for us to secure the bank loan and meet the building operations obligations for the first 6 months.
YOU CAN DONATE
Every donation, regardless of size or amount, is important in this process.
We need 200 people who can commit to donating $3,000.00
- Examples:
1 generous donation of $5,000
1 donation of $3,000
2 donations of $1,500
3 donations of $1,000
6 donations of $500
FAQs

The gospel has long been taking root through us in our friends, neighbors, throughout New York City and we are here to continue blessing our city. As we embrace that mission of showing all people, regardless of their journeys or paths in life, the GRACE of the gospel through Jesus Christ and forming disciples of Jesus who are sent as light to the world, we are excited to announce that we will be purchasing a building! Although it is very difficult to find affordable real estate in this city, God has given us a miraculous opportunity to have a central meeting point for ministry and mission in the Kingsbridge section of the Bronx.
-
This campaign is an invitation to our congregation to participate meaningfully in this call to love and serve generations of New Yorkers. The purpose of the campaign includes a spiritual objective and a financial objective. The spiritual goal is for this moment in the life of our church to be a journey of faith. The outcome of this journey cannot be measured in dollars, but in the hearts of people who are experiencing the joy of radically following Jesus Christ and watching New Yorkers become wholehearted disciples of Jesus. The financial goal is to raise the capital necessary to fuel the vision of reaching New Yorkers in various missional initiatives, including new churches and new resources for our communities.
-
We are praying to have financial pledges from our congregation that total at least $600,000 dollars (this amount will help us cover what is missing for the bank loan and operating expenses of 4-6 months). We are asked to consider strengthening our regular giving and committing to additional sacrificial giving in joy.
-
This campaign is intended to be an invitation to donate beyond our regular donations. Our ministries depend on the annual offering for our general operating expenses and we want to continue to manage our funds in ways that allow us to maintain our growth while increasing our support of the various causes in which we already invest.
-
It is a synagogue that has been closed for several years in the Kingsbridge community. The building has 3 floors with several spaces that can be “multi-use”. With an auditorium that seats more than 300 people.
-
By purchasing this space, we will finally have our own space with the freedom to expand and amplify everything we are already doing. We have been limited for many years by not having our own space. We will become a missionary center for future generations. The work we are about to undertake, then, is the result of years of planning, of people generous with their “time, talent and treasure,” and a desire to make our church as healthy and effective as possible. The building itself is not the primary thing, but the lives that will be transformed and everything we will do to reach the city for Christ in a comprehensive way.
-
Banking institutions may deny the loan for the purchase of the building.
-
In the event that this building is not purchased, the amount raised will be in a separate account for the purchase of another building that helps us fulfill the mission we have.
-
Missionary work has always been the heart of our congregation. We have always donated to help our community, other congregations and organizations that seek the well-being of our city. God has blessed us to invest in both, and that will continue. Additionally, this building will also be used to serve missional initiatives such as new churches and new resources for the community, this building will be a gift to the mission as well as a gift to the local church.
-
Good question! That's between you and God. Although we have examples of what can be donated to reach the desired goal. The amount should represent something that is a sincere spiritual decision, and not simply an afterthought or obligation. The Scriptures challenge us to give first to the work of God and to do so with passion and joy. The widow (Luke 21) gave everything she had, and Christ praised her for her devotion and sacrifice. Not all of us will give the same, but we can sacrifice in the same way. If each of us prays and then gives an offering that represents a true sacrifice, the accumulated effort will be amazing.
-
There are many ways to contribute. The most effective are in cash, checks or online.
-
No. You may hear testimonies from people who are willing to say, “Will you join me in making a sacrificial donation?” We do not want to put any person or family in trouble or who offers themselves out of a negative feeling of obligation.
-
No problem! If this is the case, we would love for you to steward or donate what you have: enthusiasm, influence, hope, prayer. Pray for your leaders, pastors, volunteers, members and this campaign. In short, do the best you can with what you have. God knows our circumstances, so He knows what faithfulness looks like for each of us. He knows our hearts
-
All church households will have the opportunity to participate. You can inform us of your commitment at any time.

It would be great if everyone can donate by the end of November, but we understand that not everyone will have the ability to do so. So you can chat to someone from the funds team for more information.
-
Of course! All donors will be regularly updated on the process whenever news about the project is presented. We will also have regular announcements at Sunday services.
